No Color – The Color Of Choice?
The kitchen really is the heart of the home. So much more than just cooking goes on in this central location, so it’s important that if you make modifications, they are changes you’re prepared to live with for some time and that you love. While cabinets, counter tops, tile, and flooring colors and finishes go in and out of fashion, the one trend in appliances that has stuck around since the 1990’s is the “no color” of stainless steel. True, a small division of the home remodeling market and interior designers are trying to turn their backs on this metal alloy, but go to any large home “big-box” shop or browse through any home decor magazine and you’ll see the predominance of stainless steel everywhere.
You can see why the no color appliance is so popular; with its ability to retain an unscratched appearance despite being subjected to a wide range of heat, splatters and spills, its resistance to stains and corrosion as well as to bacteria, it is no wonder that stainless steel remains a lasting choice for kitchen appliances. It also has also come to represent a distinct, sleek look that many people associate with modern elegance. A distant second choice if you’re either set against the cool steel or just cannot afford to change all of your appliances, is good old white, which, like steel, goes with just about everything in the kitchen.
